Key Features
- Use all buttons and switches through the case
- Also protects from dust, dirt and sand
- Supplied with a belt, or you can use your own belt
- Like most of our cases it’ll float if you drop it in the drink
- The seams are high-frequency welded to form a super-strong bond
- This case features our ‘TC’ Aquaclip which makes the case waterproof to IPX6. Temporary immersion is fine, but not continuous immersion (see below for more).
But can I swim with it?
Although it’s not designated as Submersible we have had reports from many, many users that in practice they or their children have enjoyed swimming with our cases with no problem whatsoever (the vast majority of our customers have bought the case for their children). We are talking here about splashing around in the pool or the sea, but we are NOT talking about endurance/long-distance swimming. Our testing shows that the TC clamp will let a tiny amount of water in after a period of total immersion. So the best advice we can give is to wear it in the small of your back if you’re swimming on your front, and on your tummy if you’re swimming on your back, so that it spends as little time submerged as possible.
Important Note regarding Insulin Pumps and Aquapac cases
Aquapac commissioned research by Imperial College London into the suitability of their cases for use with insulin pumps. Results show that in some circumstances insulin flow rate can be reduced by the case. In particular, low flow rates are impeded and as such Aquapac can make no claim regarding the suitability of these cases with insulin pumps. Use of these cases with insulin pumps is entirely at the discretion of the user.
We are advised to recommend that users of Aquapac cases with insulin pumps regularly check their blood sugar levels. Furthermore we strongly recommend that you get the green light from your consultant before use.
The tests were conducted by Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine using a Roche Accu-Check Spirit insulin pump at a temperature of 20C at flow rates of 2U/hr and 10U/hr. The amounts of insulin delivered over 60 minutes observed were as follows:
2U/hr not in a case – 0.0131g (flow rate of 100%)
2U/hr in Aquapac 150 – 0.0106g (flow rate of 81%)
2U/hr in Aquapac 150 – 0.0056g (2nd test model)(flow rate of 42%)
2U/hr in Aquapac 550 – 0.0121g (flow rate 92%)
10U/hr not in case – 0.0864g (flow rate of 100%)
10U/hr in Aquapac 150 – 0.0878g (flow rate of 100%)
10U/hr in Aquapac 550 – 0.0903g (flow rate of 100%)

Important Notes
- Cases with this clamp are for surface use only, but will offer protection from temporary submersion. They are not recommended for prolonged immersion.
- When not using the case leave the TC clamp open. If not the wire or tube could eventually cause a permanent distortion of the foam, risking leakage.
- As long as you follow this instruction the clamp will be watertight with or without a wire/tube.
- The maximum thickness of wire/tube around which the TC clamp will seal is 1/10th inch (3.5mm).

This is really an amazing product, it does much more than it says. I use it for swimming and put my insulin pump inside. I also put a tissue inside just in case but as yet NO LEAKS! It’s brilliant

This Case is fantastic for my Medtronic Pump! I’ve used it for many years now and getting ready to order a second one as a back-up. I’ve been whitewater rafting, snorkeling in the Caribbean, Scuba diving in the Keys and swimming laps in the pool almost every day. It’s tough and long lasting. It will let a tiny bit of water in the bag, but that’s no different from getting rained on. I highly recommend this product!

This time last week I was knee deep in mud, cow poo and god knows what else taking part in #truegrit, a 12km military style obstacle course with a team of awesome blokes. Safe to say I was dreading it, not only for the physical challenge but with my #diabetes. Knowing it was going to be an absolute mudfest I was worried my #insulinpump wouldn’t withstand the course, or if I had to take it off, I’d end up unwell from being off my insulin. THANK THE SPORTING HEAVENS I found @aquapac! @aquapac make amazing products including waterproof insulin pump packs. Basically you fasten it around your waist like a seat belt and pop your insulin pump inside and clasp the wire, and you’re done! I can vouch it was 100% waterproof, this was after going through mud pits, cesspools and deep water holes. We absolutely smashed the course in 2hrs 20mins and I’m already looking for my next challenge. So glad I had my team to push me and get me through. If you’re looking for something to protect your pump whilst you’re exercising I absolutely recommend the Aquapac!

The Aquapac is extremely helpful as its one of the only waterproof pouches I’ve seen that allows the small insulin pump tubing to pass through the pouch to the outside. This pouch came in handy every day of my rowing career, I highly recommend it! The pouch is perfect for younger pump users as it easily wraps around the waist like a belt! Make sure you have this the next time you bring your pump to the beach, waterpark, or swimming!

Just wanted to say a massive thanks for inventing the insulin pump pack, I used it last week during a 12km military obstacle course and there’s no way I could’ve done it without the pac protecting my insulin pump!

I have your waterproof insulin pump case which I love.

I have been a type 1 for almost 40 years, on the pump about half that time and living my life around water. I had gone with Mini Med because they were going to have a water proof pump, sure! When I found out about Aquapac I was so excited! I spend most of my summers in water one way or other. I’m a professional float tester as the grandchildren try to sink me! Now we know I couldn’t say I swim with my pump because that voids the warranty. But I swim wearing a Aquapac and have for 5 years, even in salt water and it never leaks. I always make sure I have 2 on hand at all times and thank God every day that I found out about this product. I just tuck it into my swim suit and off we go.

Thank you for posting this, Glenda!

I have the 558 and a 158 and they are both great products.

Highly recommended for pump users who are also enthusiastic swimmers or do water sports.

Just wanted to shoot you a line on how great your product is. I just recently found out about the Aquapac and used it for the first time a couple of days ago. This was the first time in over 20 years that I have been in a water park, and I had forgotten how much I loved them. Your pack for insulin pumps stayed dry the entire time, even with water pouring directly at it. This gives me the courage to now try some light (beginner runs) white water rafting with my son and his scout troop. Thanks for the addition in freedom.

Worked like a charm. Totally waterproof while swimming
